Safety & disclaimer
This is a reference resource. It helps you research; it does not plan your dive. Please keep the following in mind:
- Conditions change. Swell, current, visibility, weather and boat traffic vary by the hour and season. A site described as calm can be dangerous on the day.
- Coordinates carry uncertainty. Each position shows its source and quality. Some are approximate by hundreds of metres or more. Maps here are informational and not for navigation.
- Information can be out of date. Every site shows when it was last researched and whether facts are current or historical. Access, moorings and regulations change.
- Dive within your training. Certification limits, depth limits and overhead-environment training still apply. Descriptions of experience level are sources’ opinions, not our guarantee.
- Use local knowledge. Local dive professionals know current conditions, access and regulations. Hiring a guide is often the right call, especially at unfamiliar, exposed or offshore sites.
- Follow the rules. Many sites are within natural reserves managed by DRNA or federal agencies, with rules on anchoring, fishing, collecting and access. Some areas (e.g. parts of Desecheo and former military lands) have access restrictions or unexploded-ordnance hazards.
- Not a substitute for nautical charts, a dive plan, a briefing, or your own judgment.
