Overview
Star is a reef off Lajas on the La Parguera and Guánica shelf edge (La Pared), where DRNA lists a named mooring buoy. The bottom is flat, about 55 to 60 feet (a 1998 guide gave 50 to 70), with a wide sand channel and side channels between tall reef-rock outcrops and soft corals. A local operator calls the layout very beginner-friendly with plenty for experienced divers, and reports Nassau grouper, southern stingrays, nurse sharks and lionfish. It lies inside La Parguera Natural Reserve, where NOAA lists anchoring as restricted; check current DRNA rules.[1][2][3][4]
