Overview

Cañones (Canyons) is a boat-dive wall on the La Parguera and Guánica shelf edge (La Pared), where DRNA lists a named mooring buoy. A local operator describes two back-to-back sites spanning just under 2 miles, with deep current-carved canyons whose tops start around 60 feet and run to 130 feet and beyond; a 1998 guide gave 50 to 120 feet. NOAA habitat mapping shows spur-and-groove coral reef and hard bottom here, with 10 to 50% coral cover. It lies inside La Parguera Natural Reserve, where NOAA lists anchoring as restricted; check current DRNA rules.[1][2][3][4][5]
