Overview

Aquarium is a site off the Guánica–La Parguera coast, where DRNA lists a named mooring buoy near the shelf edge. A 2007 description from a Guánica resort dive center named The Aquarium among popular dives inshore of the shelf-edge wall, with three zones: sandy bottom, large coral heads (one estimated at over 1,000 years old) and soft and hard corals with sponges, plus a coral head about 10 ft tall and 12 ft across. It listed sergeant majors, blue chromis, goatfish, garden eels, crabs, cleaner shrimp, butterflyfish and several anemones. A 1998 guide gave depths of 25–60 ft.[1][2][3]
