Overview
Playa El Combate in Cabo Rojo is a snorkel spot where calm, clear water lets you swim out to nearby reefs. Heads up: there are no lifeguards. Sources differ on the pier: a 2024 article described the large dock as a jumping-off point, but a 2026 local guide says the rebuilt pier is closed to visitors (fishers and permit-holding boat owners only). Travel writers describe extensive coral reefs off the beach, and one source calls the area a paradise for diving. Access is via PR-301 to a balneario with a marked bathing area (2002), and a travel guide places the beach in the Boquerón state forest.[1][2][3][4][5][6]
