Overview

Heads up: Playa Zoni is a windward beach with waves, currents and rip tides, and rough surf can cloud the water. On calm days it is a snorkel spot at the east end of Culebra, where the road ends at a paved lot by the sand. A travel guide describes reefs just offshore and a beach flanked by large boulders, better for snorkelers than scuba divers. A 2012 refuge plan names Zoni among the Culebra refuge's main beach-recreation areas, and a sign at the beach says endangered sea turtles nest there.[1][2][3][4]
