Overview

El Negro is a reef at a cay in the Joyuda area off Cabo Rojo, reached by boat. A 2015 Noticel feature calls it a standout place to dive, and Mayagüez dive-shop site lists from 2000 and 2007 included it among the west coast's most visited boat dives. The 1998 dive guide gave 20 to 80 ft. A reef-monitoring program surveys aggregate reef here at about 16 and 33 ft.[1][2][3][4][5]
