Overview
Playa Esperanza is the town beach of Esperanza on Vieques, centred on the main pier steps from the Malecón, and one of the island's most easily reached snorkel spots. Snorkelers head under the concrete pier and along the guesthouse strip, and travel guides report manta rays, sea turtles, barracudas, nurse sharks and occasional manatees. The water laps gently, and a tourism guide calls it a great beach for families. A 2009 operator map also listed it for snorkeling and scuba.[1][2][3][4][5]
